AUSTIN, Texas - The Cybercab driverless share in Austin just set a new mark. CybercabSpotter, a crowd-sourced tracking account, logged 554 Cybercab sightings in the city on Thursday, 8 October. Of those, 447 were tagged driverless.

Robotaxi Radar, which follows the same board, put the share at 81 percent. That tops the previous high of 77 percent, logged on Saturday, 3 October, during the first Austin City Limits festival weekend. Radar also said 447 driverless sightings is the highest figure yet on any day without a festival in town.

The climb has been steady across the week. Radar's weekday chain ran 69 percent, then 75 percent, then 76 percent, then 81 percent. Total sightings held in a tight band of about 529 to 566 for the week, so the shift is not a flood of new reports. It is fewer cars tagged with a safety monitor still in the seat.
Thursday's total of 554 sits next to the weekday floor Radar flagged earlier in the week, when Tuesday landed at 557 sightings and 416 driverless. The total is flat. The driverless column is not. Tuesday's 416 non-festival driverless high is now behind Thursday's 447.
Austin City Limits weekend two starts today, and X Takeover brings more Tesla fans into the city this weekend. Radar noted that the 150 Cybercabs Tesla registered on the Texas books overnight could change the scale of the chart again. Watch the next daily board for whether the share holds when demand rises.
Read the figures with care. A sighting is a report, not a car, and one Cybercab can be logged many times as it crosses town. The counts are not a Tesla fleet number. Tesla does not publish how many Cybercabs it runs in Austin on any given day.
Austin remains the only city where the public can pay for a Cybercab ride through Tesla's Robotaxi app. An 81 percent driverless share on a quiet weekday is the clearest signal yet that unsupervised Cybercab miles are becoming the normal look of the Austin board.
