PHILADELPHIA - Tesla's Cybercab had a busy Tuesday in the Northeast. Over the course of one day, people posted sightings of the two-seat robotaxi in Boston, Philadelphia and Queens, three places where Tesla does not run its Robotaxi service.
In Philadelphia, an X user who posts as giovannigussen shared a photo on Tuesday afternoon of a gold Cybercab parked in a sunny lot beside a modern building, with the caption "cybercab testing spotted in Philly." Robotaxi Radar, an account that tracks Tesla's driverless rollout, said it was the third Cybercab sighting in the Philadelphia area this month.
Later that night, TeslaZoa, an X account that follows Tesla news, shared video of a Cybercab on the Schuylkill Expressway, the stretch of Interstate 76 that follows the Schuylkill River into the city. The account credited a post on the r/philly forum on Reddit.

Boston had its turn earlier in the day. On Tuesday morning, Robotaxi Radar posted a photo of a Cybercab on Commonwealth Avenue, taken in low light from a car behind it. The account called it the second Boston-area sighting in a few days, after one in Davis Square in Somerville late last week.

The biggest group turned up in Queens. On Tuesday night, an X user who posts as rickster902 shared a photo of a fenced lot under floodlights with rows of Cybercabs inside. Robotaxi Radar counted at least 18 and noted that Queens produced four Cybercab sightings in September. "This must be their home base," the account wrote.
The Northeast has been on the map for a few weeks. Cybercab.news logged a pair of Cybercabs in Queens and a Supercharger stop north of Philadelphia in mid-September. Tuesday's photos add a new city, Boston, and the largest group yet seen in New York.
None of this is a launch. Paid Cybercab rides remain Austin only, and Tesla has not announced Robotaxi service in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania or New York. Tesla's Robotaxi service also runs Model Y vehicles in Dallas, Houston, Miami, Orlando and Tampa.
What the sightings do show is reach. Test cars are now regular visitors to the older, denser streets of the Northeast, from Boston's wide avenues to Philadelphia's busiest expressway, and a fleet of at least 18 is parked in New York City's largest borough. Each new photo adds to the public record of how the car handles roads that look nothing like Austin.
