Left on the Roof: Cybercabs Stay Put as Giga Texas Clears Out Q3 Inventory
Drone photos from Monday show rows of Cybercabs still parked on the roof of the east parking garage at Giga Texas, while the Model Ys and Cybertrucks stored beside them last week are gone. Groups of Cybercabs, some carrying Cybercab logos, were staged at the outbound lot for transport off site.

AUSTIN, Texas - The Model Ys and Cybertrucks are gone. The Cybercabs are still there. Drone photos taken over Giga Texas on Monday show rows of gold Cybercabs parked on the roof of the factory's east parking garage, a week after hundreds of finished vehicles were driven up its ramps as the third quarter came to a close.

Joe Tegtmeyer, who regularly flies a drone over the plant, posted the photos and a video on X on Monday morning, Central time. He wrote that most of the Cybercabs on the roof were placed there last week, along with many Cybertrucks and Model Ys. "Today, all but the Cybercabs are long gone," he wrote. In a later post the same day, he said he saw about 100 Cybercabs on top of the garage.
The photos show the cars lined up in tight rows across the top deck and parked nose to tail along its edges, with wide stretches of empty concrete around them. On Sept. 25, Tegtmeyer filmed a long line of Model Ys, Cybertrucks and Cybercabs driving from the west outbound lot into the garage, filling the lower decks and then the roof. He said Tesla had stored vehicles there before, but not at that scale.

The rest of the campus has moved on. Tegtmeyer reported that the outbound lot was substantially emptied of last week's inventory. He described a large effort to deliver cars directly to customers or ship them off site since his last flight on Wednesday, through heavy rain that lasted into the weekend. On Monday morning he saw new Cybertrucks and Model YLs arriving from the factory as production got going after the weekend.
Some Cybercabs are moving, too. Tegtmeyer saw groups of them at the outbound lot getting ready to be transported off site, including about a dozen with "Cybercab" logos on their sides, and another group at the south end of the End-of-Line building. He did not say where they were bound.
Tesla has not explained why the Cybercabs remain on the roof. Tegtmeyer wrote that he was not sure of the reason. The car is turning up in more places at once. On Sunday, Robotaxi Radar, an account that tracks the service, reported a swarm of Cybercabs that appeared prepped in Dallas, and said Model Y Robotaxis and Cybercabs had been moved from a Las Vegas lot to a new Robotaxi deployment hub. Austin is still the only city where the public can pay for a Cybercab ride.
Watch the garage roof on the next drone flights. If the rows start to thin, transport trucks at the outbound lot should show where the cars go next. The X Takeover fan event comes to Giga Texas this week, which will put more cameras on the site.
