Half the Line: Tesla Shows Unboxed Cybercab Factory

The Robotaxi account posted the first video of modules built in parallel and framed in one step, a process Tesla says cuts line size in half.

Tesla posted the first factory video of Cybercab's Unboxed process on Tuesday, showing the two-seat robotaxi assembled as modules rather than as a body rolling down a single line.

"Our unboxed process for Cybercab assembles vehicle modules in parallel & frames the car in one step at the end," the official Robotaxi account wrote. "This streamlines automation & reduces the line size by half, unlocking much greater production capacity."

The clip, about 48 seconds, shows a battery box, a front section, and a rear section built at the same time. Those pieces are then framed together. Side sections, the roof, and the doors go on last.

Tesla called the method "the first real revolution in automotive manufacturing in over a century." The company has talked about Unboxed since 2024. Cybercab is the first vehicle to run on it.

The first production Cybercab came off the line at Gigafactory Texas in February. Formal production began in April. Tesla has not attached a new volume rate to this week's video.

For a cab designed around cost per mile, factory footprint is not a side issue. A shorter line in the same building is more cabs per shift. That is the production half of the fleet-buyer pitch Tesla opened last week.
