New York Minute: Spotter Counts 50 Cybercabs at a Tesla Lot in Queens
An X user says about 50 Cybercabs were parked at a Tesla site in College Point, Queens, half of them on Texas plates and a few with Starlink roof cutouts. That would nearly triple the group of 18 counted in the borough last week.

QUEENS, New York - Tesla's Cybercab is building a bigger presence in New York City. An X user who posts as Anim8Studio said on Thursday that they came across about 50 Cybercabs parked outside a large Tesla showroom and service building in College Point, Queens, and shared two photos of the gold two-seat robotaxis lined up in rows across the lot.
"They are preparing for a NYC launch!!" the account wrote.
According to the post, half of the cars carried Texas license plates and the rest had no plates, only a placeholder plate that read "cybercab." The account said a few had cutouts in the rear roof for Starlink terminals, and that every car it saw had a steering wheel installed, with the steering column and wiring exposed. It also said it watched several Cybercabs coming and going with Tesla employees behind the wheel.

The two photos show at least a dozen Cybercabs parked nose to tail in one part of the lot, alongside other Tesla vehicles and in front of a large white building. Cybercab.news could not independently confirm the full count of 50.
Queens has been the Cybercab's busiest spot in the Northeast. On 7 October, Robotaxi Radar, an account that tracks Tesla's driverless rollout, counted at least 18 Cybercabs in a floodlit lot in the borough after a post by an X user who goes by rickster902, and noted four Queens sightings in September. Cybercab.news logged a pair of Cybercabs in Queens in mid-September. If Thursday's count holds, the New York group has nearly tripled in little more than a week.
The cars are getting out, too. On Wednesday, Robotaxi Radar shared video of a Cybercab driving down Park Avenue in Manhattan.
None of this is a launch. Tesla has not announced Robotaxi service in New York, and paid Cybercab rides remain available only in Austin. Tesla's Robotaxi service also runs Model Y vehicles in Dallas, Houston, Miami, Orlando and Tampa.
What the photos do show is scale. A lot holding dozens of purpose-built robotaxis is a fleet, not a test car passing through, and it sits in the country's biggest city. Each new batch in Queens gives Tesla more cars to log miles on some of the most demanding streets in America.
