Six Cities, Empty Driver Seat: Unsupervised Map Now Spans Two States

Austin, Dallas, Houston, Miami, Orlando, and Tampa run without an in-car safety monitor. The Bay Area does not.

Tesla's unsupervised Robotaxi service now covers six metros in two states.

Austin was first, in 2025, with safety monitors that later came out. Dallas and Houston went unsupervised on April 18. Miami opened July 3. Tampa and Orlando followed on July 21, the day before second-quarter earnings.

The San Francisco Bay Area remains the seventh live market, and the exception. It runs with a safety driver under a California TCP permit.

Phoenix and Las Vegas are still listed as preparation: testing, permitting, and first-responder training. Tesla has not given a public date for either.

Cybercab rides, for now, are an Austin overlay on that map. The Model Y still carries the other cities. The interest form Tesla posted last week is how the company is asking other operators to help fill it.
