Crowd Test: Cybercab Waits Stayed Short Through X Takeover Weekend

AUSTIN, Texas - The number worth keeping from X Takeover weekend is not a speech. It is the wait clock.
Tesla Owners of Silicon Valley packed Giga Texas on Saturday for X Takeover 2026, while Austin City Limits Weekend 2 also pulled crowds into the same city. The only public way to hail a Cybercab is still Tesla's Robotaxi app inside the Austin geofence. That is a hard stress test for a young fleet.

Sawyer Merritt, posting on Saturday evening after more than 2,000 Tesla fans had left the factory event, wrote that Cybercab wait times in Austin were still very short at prime time. He said waits had stayed that short for the entire weekend while visitors were in town, and that the extra Cybercabs added to the active fleet had made a clear difference. His app screen that evening showed a Cybercab that could arrive in six minutes.
Robotaxi Radar put the same pattern in a weekend wrap: Cybercab wait times were crushing the Austin City Limits Weekend 2 and X Takeover stress test, with 6 to 10 minute waits consistently reported by multiple riders and the active Cybercab fleet holding strong. Earlier on Saturday morning, Radar's Uber versus Robotaxi check into Zilker had Cybercab at four minutes, beating every Uber tier on that board for pickup speed.

Dirty Tesla, also riding through the fan weekend, posted a one-minute Cybercab quote to Civil Goat on Manor Road. Abhimanyu Yadav, who posts as WorldlyReviewer and logs Austin fare and wait samples, said Saturday's Cybercab wait times on average were "pretty dang awesome," even after a brief surge when the ACL crowd left late.
A short wait under a thin Tuesday schedule is easy. A short wait while a fan festival empties into the same streets as a music weekend is the fact that sticks. Tesla's Robotaxi account had already said on Saturday that more than 300 Cybercabs were serving Austin, an eightfold rise in 30 days. The weekend wait boards are what that fleet buys riders when the city is full.
