PARIS - Tesla is bringing the Cybercab to Europe's biggest car show. One of the gold two-seat robotaxis from the fleet Tesla runs in the United States will stand on the company's display at the Mondial de l'Auto, the Paris Motor Show, which opens on 12 October at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, according to the show's organisers.
Serge Gachot, the show's director, shared the plan in a phone interview with Bloomberg News on Tuesday. Visitors will be able to walk around the Cybercab but not drive it, since the car has no steering wheel or pedals. Instead, Gachot told Bloomberg, show-goers will be able to try six other Tesla cars equipped with the company's Full Self-Driving (Supervised) software.

Tesla's stand is C25 in Hall 7.1, open for the full run of the show from 12 to 18 October. Based on Tesla's own announcement, the organisers say the stand will also feature the Model Y and Model 3, the Optimus Gen 2 humanoid robot, Tesla Energy home charging products and a Supercharger. Tesla's sales, technical and certified used-car teams will be on hand to answer questions.
The test drives are the other draw. Tesla says Full Self-Driving (Supervised) has now covered more than 100 million kilometres in the seven European countries where it is approved, and that cars using it are 4.1 times less likely to be involved in a crash than cars driven manually. Free sessions will run throughout the week.
The car going to Paris is not a show concept. It comes from the working Robotaxi fleet, the organisers said. Tesla began paid Cybercab rides in Austin on 3 September, and Austin is still the only city where the public can book a ride in one. French outlet Turbo noted that a European Cybercab launch is not planned at this stage.
Tesla will share the show with a crowd of rivals. Bloomberg reported that Stellantis plans to show more than 60 vehicles across eight brands and Renault about 50, with BYD, Xpeng and Volkswagen also exhibiting. BMW is skipping this year's show.
For many of the visitors expected in Paris, the stand in Hall 7.1 will be the first chance to see a production Cybercab up close. The show opens on Monday, 12 October.
