SINGAPORE - Tesla's Cybercab is coming to the Lion City. The gold two-seat robotaxi will go on display at the Tesla Centre in Toa Payoh in "the third week of October" as part of its Cybercab Asia Tour, according to a Tesla press release dated 15 October that was reported on Friday by The Straits Times.
Visitors will meet the same car that has drawn crowds at every stop so far: butterfly doors that swing up like a supercar's, a cabin built around two passengers, and no steering wheel. Tesla designed the Cybercab from the start for full autonomy, without a steering wheel or pedals.
Tesla had not published exact dates or opening hours for the Singapore display as of Friday morning. Its Toa Payoh Experience Centre is at 17 Lorong 8 Toa Payoh, according to the company's store listing.

Singapore joins a tour that has been building momentum across the region since September. The car opened its Asian run in Hong Kong, moving from ELEMENTS to Pacific Place and on to Tesla's AIRSIDE centre at Kai Tak. In Tokyo, crowds packed the Aoyama display before the car moved on through Japan, and in mainland China public exhibits opened in Beijing and Shanghai, where the first day drew shoppers to Taikoo Hui. Tesla Australia and New Zealand has also mapped a run of stops from Sydney to Auckland.
The Toa Payoh stop lands as Tesla deepens its footprint in the city-state. Earlier this month the company opened its fourth Singapore Experience Centre, at Bedok Mall, joining its sites at Millenia Walk, Toa Payoh and Westgate. It also installed four high-speed chargers in the mall's Basement 1 carpark, bringing its Supercharger network in Singapore to 19 locations. At the Bedok opening, Tesla highlighted the upcoming Cybercab among its wider product plans.
Like the earlier stops, Toa Payoh is a showcase, not a service launch. Tesla has not announced plans to bring its Robotaxi service to Singapore. The company offers autonomous rides in Austin, Dallas, Houston, Miami, Orlando and Tampa, and the Cybercab already carries paying riders in Austin.
That is what gives the tour its pull. The two-seater parked in a Toa Payoh showroom will be the same purpose-built design that is working the streets of Texas today. As this site has argued, every crowd that gathers around an open butterfly door is meeting the future before its own city is ready to book a ride. This month, it is Singapore's turn.
