Clear Lens at the Light: Cybercab Blows Rain Off Its Camera
Tipster TeslaZoa flagged a Cybercab wet-weather camera-cleaning trick: at stoplights, when airflow over the coupe is low, the car appears to blow air across the B-pillar camera lens to clear rain and water droplets.

AUSTIN - Cybercab is teaching its cameras to stay honest in the rain. On Friday morning tipster TeslaZoa posted that the coupe appears to use a wet-weather camera-cleaning system. At stoplights, when there is little or no airflow over the vehicle, the car seems to blow air across the B-pillar camera lens to help keep it clear of rain and water droplets. The tip asked whether Tesla has used a similar camera air-blower on other vehicles, or whether the setup is unique to Cybercab. The desk files the product detail, not a factory confirmation.

The engineering logic is simple. A moving coupe gets natural airflow over its camera glass. A stopped coupe does not. If Tesla routes a short burst of air across the B-pillar lens while the car waits at a light, the camera keeps a clearer view of the lane when the rain would otherwise sit on the glass. TeslaZoa's tip presents the behavior as observed in the field. This Tech piece does not invent a patent number, a parts list, or a Tesla press line that the tip did not supply.

Keep the boundaries honest. This is not a Megalamp story. Megalamp is the Cybercab light bar that helps a rider find the right car. This filing is about keeping a B-pillar camera clear in wet weather at a stop. It is also not a fleet-count story. Sister Robotaxi coverage already holds Thursday night's Texas registration surge to 158 Cybercabs. Friday's Tech rail pockets the camera air-blow as a product detail riders and spotters can watch for the next time Austin rain hits a red light.
Pocket the line: at low airflow stoplights, Cybercab appears to blow air across its B-pillar camera to clear rain. That is Friday's Tech fact. Distinct from Megalamp. Distinct from the Texas fleet-158 Robotaxi package. Austin remains the only paid Cybercab hail market.
