SHENZHEN, China - Tesla's Cybercab has reached Shenzhen, and the crowds came with it. The gold two-seat robotaxi is on show in the ground-floor atrium of One Avenue, a mall in the southern Chinese city, the second stop on a five-city tour that Tesla China will run into November.
A photo shared on Sunday by Ming, a Tesla watcher who posts as @tslaming, shows visitors lining rope barriers around a black Tesla stage, phones raised, as the Cybercab sits with its butterfly doors open. Banners hanging through the atrium bill the display as the Shenzhen debut of Tesla's 2026 national static tour. Ming wrote that the car "has consistently stolen the spotlight throughout its China tour," and that Shenzhen "was no exception, drawing big crowds eager to catch a glimpse of the future of public transit."

The Shenzhen stop runs from 16 to 25 October, according to the schedule Tesla China posted on its official Weibo account, which the Tesla news account TeslaZoa shared on X. The first stop, at MixC World in Suzhou, closes on Sunday. Ningbo is next, at the Longhu Yinzhou Tianjie mall from 22 to 27 October. The car then returns to Shanghai, at the city plaza beside the Oriental Pearl Tower from 29 October to 1 November, before the final stop at Taikoo Li in Chengdu from 30 October to 8 November.
The tour is a showcase, not a launch. Tesla China has described it as a static display and has said it has no plans to sell the Cybercab or run Robotaxi rides in China for now, according to the Tesla tracking account Teslas.R.Us. Visitors can also try the Model 3 and Model Y, learn about Tesla's FSD (Supervised) driver assistance and enter for limited-edition merchandise, according to Tesla China's tour poster.
The appetite has been building for weeks. The China leg opened in September, when the first day at Taikoo Hui in Shanghai drew shoppers to the stage, and the Suzhou opening packed the mall several rows deep, as this site noted last week. Elsewhere in Asia, the car is due at the Tesla Centre in Toa Payoh, Singapore, this month.
In Austin, the one city where the public can already ride, community trackers logged a record 1,072 Cybercab sightings on Friday. In Shenzhen, a city famous for its electronics makers, the cab stays parked on a stage, and people keep lining up to see it anyway.
Enjoy driving. Enjoy not having to drive.
