SALT LAKE CITY - Utah's capital is getting used to the gold cab. On Saturday, a Tesla Cybercab was photographed parked in the lot of a Tesla Service Center in Salt Lake City, the latest in a run of sightings across the city this week.

The service center photo was posted to Reddit's r/teslamotors forum under the title "Cybercab spotted in Service Center lot in Salt Lake City." TeslaZoa, an account that tracks Tesla news, shared the image on Saturday evening. It shows the Cybercab nose-on in a sunlit lot, with a bare black steel wheel up front instead of the usual gold cover and a bright green strap clipped to its front plate mount. TeslaZoa wrote that the front trunk was open and asked whether the car was there for servicing.
Robotaxi Radar, which keeps a running map of reported Cybercab sightings, counted Salt Lake City as the sixth Utah city with a sighting since August. "All along the Wasatch Front," the account wrote.

The service lot was not the city's first look this week. On Wednesday, a Salt Lake City resident who posts as @goldeneggie shared a photo, taken from a car window, of a Cybercab crossing an intersection, writing that the Cybercab "made an appearance in Salt Lake City, Utah!" Early on Friday, Ash Hall, a Utah driver who describes himself as a trucker and posts as @AshHallN, shared a photo of a Cybercab in interstate traffic beneath overhead signs for Salt Lake City, West Temple and Cheyenne. He wrote that it had Texas plates, a steering yoke and a driver.
That last detail fits a pattern. Cybercabs seen far from Austin are often test cars fitted with a temporary wheel, something Tesla's own first responder guide allows for, as this site explained on Thursday. Another Utah poster, @Snowbird4rich, wrote on Thursday that he had seen another Cybercab in Utah driving around with a steering wheel, and that he now sees them every couple of days.
Utah has been on the Cybercab map for weeks. On 6 October, this site reported a Cybercab in South Salt Lake, at the time the fourth Utah city with a reported sighting.
Tesla has not said what its Cybercabs are doing in Utah. Public rides remain limited to Austin, where more than 300 Cybercabs now serve riders, and Tesla has named Dallas as the next city. In Salt Lake City, a week of photos says the gold cab is no longer a rare visitor.
