Mile High Sighting: Gold Cybercab Rolls Through Wheat Ridge, Colorado

A Golden resident photographed a Texas-plated Cybercab in rainy traffic in the Denver suburb, near an Interstate 70 sign. A day earlier, another X user reported seeing one in nearby Golden.

WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. - A Tesla Cybercab has turned up on the streets of Wheat Ridge, the Denver suburb that sits along Interstate 70 at the foot of the Rockies. Two photos posted on Wednesday by Greg Koss, who posts on X as @koss5280, show the gold two-seater on a rain-soaked road, rolling through traffic beside a white SUV under a gray Colorado sky.

The second frame, taken from behind, shows the Cybercab's full-width rear light bar, a film of road spray across its rear glass and bodywork, and a Texas license plate. An Interstate 70 sign hangs over the road ahead.

It was not the only report from the area this week. On Tuesday evening, an X user who posts as @pjklife wrote about seeing a driverless Tesla Cybercab in Golden, Colorado, the city just west of Wheat Ridge. That post carried no photo. Koss, whose profile lists Golden as home, put a gold Cybercab on camera a short drive away the next day.

Trackers already had Colorado on the board. Robotaxi Radar's running map of reported Cybercab sightings, updated on Tuesday, shows pins in the Denver area among 229 locations in 27 states plus Washington, D.C. Clear daylight photos like Koss's are what turn a pin on a map into a car on a street.

Local Tesla fans have been asking for this. Colorado owners on X spent the week asking when Cybercab might come to the state. One of them, a Cybertruck owner who posts as @RatsTesla, wrote on Wednesday that "Colorado is ready whenever Tesla is."

A sighting is not a service launch. Austin remains the only city where the public can hail a Cybercab, with more than 300 now serving the city, and Tesla has said Dallas is next. Tesla has not said what its Cybercabs are doing in Colorado.

For now, Denver's western suburbs have a clear look at the gold cab, rain and all.
