Tesla’s Cybercab Night Begins Without a Public Stream

Not a Tesla App puts the presentation at 4:45 p.m. CDT in Austin. Guests are under embargo. The Robotaxi app already supports Cybercab rides in the city.

AUSTIN, Texas — Tesla’s Exclusive Access Cybercab night is set to begin at 4:45 p.m. Central time on Thursday, and as of early evening the company still had not published an official livestream link for the people who will not be in the room.

Not a Tesla App, citing Tesla’s invitation calendar, put the launch presentation at 4:45 p.m. CDT — 10:45 p.m. in London — with invited guests under a tight embargo on venue and agenda until kickoff. Tesla usually streams major product nights. Reuters noted on Wednesday that a stream for this one had not been firmly confirmed in the company’s own briefing materials. Until @Tesla or @robotaxi posts a URL, treat any third-party “live” tab as unverified.

What is no longer theoretical is the product in the city. Cybercabs are already available to hail here. Not a Tesla App reported that a recent Robotaxi app update rolled out support for Cybercab rides in Austin, putting the two-seater on the same booking path as the Model Y fleet that has carried unsupervised fares for more than a year. Tesla’s own consumer Robotaxi page can still lag with a line that Cybercab rides are “in the future.” The app, and the cars on the street, are the cleaner signal.

James Bickford, Tesla’s director of global sales for residential energy products, wrote on X on Wednesday that “it’s going to be an exciting 48 hours,” a teaser that points past a single stage show. Guests at Gigafactory Texas — or downtown Austin, depending on which invite list you read — are 21 and older, ID-checked, and limited in who they can bring. Content creators are not on the plus-one list, according to reporting that tracks the Exclusive Access rules.

Thursday’s public file is already thick before the lights go up. Tesla’s official account posted a 51-second Cybercab video under the caption “The future has arrived in Austin.” The company opened an interest form that lists “Cybercab fleet vehicle purchasing” as a checkbox. Texas lists 45 Cybercabs on Tesla Robotaxi, LLC’s automated books beside hundreds of Model Ys. The event still has to show what the night is for: a stage reveal, a guest loop, or rides that leave the factory for the same geofence ordinary riders already use.

Watch the clock at 4:45. Watch @Tesla and @robotaxi for a stream. Watch whether the first images from inside the room match the cars already taking fares outside it.
